MCLEAN CHESTERBROOK ESTATE

McLean, VA. A new build with wall paneling and trim in nearly every room, each one styled to carry a mood of its own. The library keeps things quiet and mature, a cream tufted sofa sitting across from a black leather lounge chair, with one oversized line drawing carrying the longest wall. In the family room, deep cream seating circles a concrete top coffee table, made for the way that side of the house actually gets used, with leather pillows and brass accents bringing warmth into all that white. Cognac leather moves through the rest of the house in small doses, in the breakfast nook chairs pulled up to a live edge table, in the office chair upstairs, tying rooms together without repeating itself. The formal dining room takes its cue from the gray drenched walls, a dark wood table ringed in cream nailhead chairs with paired lamps on the sideboard behind it. The playroom runs playful, a blue geometric rug under a canvas teepee with framed animal prints, everything in it chosen to spark imagination. The primary suite reads soft but sharp, white bedding set against bold black framing on the bed and dresser, with a pair of wingback chairs at the windows. A secluded office sits just off it, far enough from the rest of the house to actually close the door on. A house built to be lived in, room by room.
