NORTH ARLINGTON BUILD

Arlington, VA. A new build where the finishes already leaned classic, coffered ceilings, a marble fireplace, an arched wet bar niche, so the furniture stayed warm and layered rather than competing with any of it. The entry sets the tone with a dark geometric sideboard under a gold framed mirror, two brass bubble lamps throwing light up the wall before anyone gets past the door. The family room was built to sink into, a deep set linen sofa piled with woven and gray pillows and two oversized sling chairs pulled up to the fireplace for more of the same ease, low enough to leave that marble in full view. The dining table goes brass and glass, eight cream chairs on brass frames beneath a matching chandelier, the whole setup made for entertaining with a clear run to the wet bar. The primary bedroom is where the edge shows up, a black and cream abstract over the bed carrying the whole room, with a nailhead dresser and wood nightstands holding everything else steady. Two gray armchairs at the window give it a second place to sit. Brass and black running through all of it, warm without ever going heavy.
