OLD TOWN TERRACE

Alexandria, VA. Bones with personality, arched openings, herringbone floors, and a statement butler's pantry, everything brought in was picked to keep up. Three cognac leather barstools pull up to the white oak waterfall island under glass globe pendants, warm enough to keep all that marble from reading cold. In the family room, two taupe sofas face each other across a black square coffee table, seating a crowd without anyone losing the television. The dining room goes a little glamorous, a glass top table on a gold base ringed in cream chairs with bronze legs, a black fluted sideboard behind it. The butler's pantry sits right off the entry, navy cabinets and brass pulls around a wine fridge, so the drinks start before anyone sits down. The office claims the front corner, a light wood trestle desk with a plant tall enough to hold its own. The primary bedroom softens things, a cane panel headboard between wood nightstands with two striped ottomans at the foot. The teen's room plays off its arched windows, a linen nailhead headboard with one navy and cream abstract, mature enough to grow with them. Up top, a white sectional and a hammered metal drum table sit by the door to the roof terrace, the last stop of the night. Old Town on the outside, a little more fun on the inside.
